It’s hot in the Sonora Desert. The daytime high’s are still hovering around 106 degrees as we near the end of August. The dogs & cats are lazing in the shade or inside their homes, birds are perched on branches with their mouths open and the lizards are scurrying around, stopping only long enough to do some quick push-ups to cool down their bodies. Another month or so of the heat and then we’ll be the envy of the parts of this vast country who suffer through brutal winters of snow blizzards, sleet and bitter cold, as we don our sweatjackets for the “biting cold” of our 50 degree winter daytime highs!
The best time of year is the winter months. How I miss that part of the world!
