The southwest is known for its spectacular sunsets. The dirt that gets kicked up in the air of our dry desert climate means most of us who have lived here for any length of time have gotten the respiratory infection Valley Fever from the airborne spores, whether we are aware of it or not. That same wind-blown dirt also creates some of the most stunning sunsets in the country. The sunrises, on the other hand, are usually nice, but not noteworthy, partly because the air is calm at that time of day. However, the last week or so has produced an exceptional show of gorgeous sunrises like the one I captured this morning on my way back from the airport. Though the air was still and dust-free, the assemblage of clouds created the perfect conditions for this pretty view. I appreciate the skies in Tucson, but was particularly pleased being in an area of such open space at the moment this colorful display peaked. I hope you can enjoy it vicariously through my photograph! Enjoy.
