It’s time for the 4th Avenue shopping district to block off the street for the Tucson Street Rod Association’s 37th annual car show as part of their yearly “Rodder Days” events.
Hundreds of meticulously cared for cars will line a three-quarter mile stretch of street this Saturday – May 7, 2011 from 8 AM until 3 PM.
I’ve been to the show for the last several years and always enjoy myself. Being a visual person I enjoy it from an aesthetic point of view. This blue 1946 Chevy is one I photographed at last year’s show.
There are larger car shows, but this one holds its own. In addition to a well-organized show set at the perfect time of year, it is nice because of its location. The funky specialty shops, eateries and bars with live music on 4th Avenue, create a very festive atmosphere. So enjoy the show, catch a bite to eat, do some shopping and participate in a beautiful day in the Old Pueblo.
