There is a beautiful place tucked away in an offshoot lake of Lake Tahoe, California called Fallen Leaf Lake. Lily Falls feeds into the lake and is a magical space secluded from the tourist traffic and watercraft of the heavily trafficked Lake Tahoe.
A friend and I spent time photographing the seductive waters of this place last July. We could have easily spent hours longer, lingering in the meditative rush of the powerful water, but dinner with our hosts was awaiting us back at Cascade Lake.
Someday I will be back with my camera – or with nothing at all – ready to sit and contemplate the beauty.
