Consider the artichoke – it’s a member of the thistle family and pretty yummy to eat – but did you know it has such healthful properties? Artichokes contain cynarin and silymarin and used since ancient times to cleanse the blood and treat for liver and gallbladder conditions. It is high in fiber, potassium, calcium, iron and phosphorus. It boosts the liver’s ability to regenerate its cells and it increases the metabolic assimilation of food, so weight loss is easier.
As a periodic blood cleanser, pull and chop about 12-15 leaves. Boil two cups water and pour over them, allowing to brew for five minutes. Strain and drink as is or sweetened with honey.
