Quack …

Simply put, the Rocky Mountains are gorgeous.

This is a photograph of Duck Lake off state road 381 (Guanella Pass Rd. south of Georgetown, CO)  just south of the summit of Guanella Pass. It is part of Pike National Forest.

Already considered high country at approximately 11,000 feet, the surrounding peaks are as tall as 14,265 (Mt. Evans) 14,065 (Mt. Bierstadt) and 13,794 (Square Top Mountain).

In just the few minutes we stopped to make this picture, we saw Yellow-bellied marmots in the rocky outcroppings along the road and American Robins flying from tree to tree.
